Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure packaging and proper handling.
- Verify accurate counts of items against delivery manifests and obtain necessary signatures.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status and potential delays.
- Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, receipts, and logbooks, accurately.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed during downtime.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Class C or D preferred)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role
- Excellent knowledge of Port Antonio and surrounding areas
- Strong geographical knowledge and ability to use GPS devices effectively
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) safely
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Punctual, reliable, and responsible
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of delivery vehicles (vans, small trucks)
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or handheld delivery devices
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Customer service experience in a delivery context
