Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle for the delivery and collection of goods.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes in the most efficient manner, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, securing items to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation, including proof of delivery.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or damage promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Assist with warehouse duties, such as picking, packing, and sorting, as required.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general maintenance of the company vehicle.
- Manage cash or payment collections if required, ensuring accurate reconciliation.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class A or C preferred for light commercial vehicles).
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience in a logistics or delivery role.
- Clean driving record with no major accidents or violations.
- Thorough knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas, including optimal routes and traffic patterns.
- Ability to operate a company-provided delivery vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry packages (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
