Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver to join our dedicated logistics and delivery team in Stony Hill, St. Andrew. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various destinations across the island, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. As a Driver, you will be the face of Career.zycto, ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt, courteous, and professional service. We are looking for an individual with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent road safety awareness, and a commitment to maintaining delivery schedules.
Your day will involve careful route planning, meticulous loading and unloading of cargo, and adherence to all traffic laws and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to designated locations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.
- Ensure all deliveries are made accurately and promptly, maintaining detailed delivery logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the company vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally and courteously to all clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class B/C)
- Clean driving record (no major traffic violations)
- Proven experience as a professional driver (logistics/delivery preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws
- Strong geographical knowledge of Stony Hill, St. Andrew, and surrounding areas of Jamaica
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Punctuality and reliability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2-3 years of professional driving experience in a logistics or delivery role
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS devices
- Customer service experience
- Familiarity with inventory management procedures
