Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and responsible Driver – Logistics & Delivery professional to join our growing team in Horizon Park, Spanish Town. This crucial role involves the safe and timely transportation of goods to various destinations across the region, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. As a key representative of Career.zycto, you will be responsible for ensuring that all deliveries are made efficiently, accurately, and with the highest level of customer service. Your day will involve meticulous route planning, careful loading and unloading of cargo, and adherence to all traffic laws and company safety policies. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company-provided vehicle for the transport and delivery of goods.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify contents of shipments against shipping documents and record any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest, completing necessary paperwork.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues or defects.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, handling interactions professionally and courteously.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other operational tasks as needed during downtime.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general maintenance of the company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or similar for commercial vehicle)
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years (verified by driving abstract)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role
- Excellent knowledge of Spanish Town and surrounding St. Catherine parish routes
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle checks
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Defensive Driving
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) or GPS navigation systems
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, light trucks)
- Customer service experience in a delivery context
