Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to various destinations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions at delivery points.
- Assist with warehouse duties, including sorting and organizing packages, as needed.
- Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, manifests, and proofs of delivery.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or higher in Jamaica)
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years
- Excellent knowledge of local geography and road networks in May Pen and surrounding areas
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual and reliable
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., tire changes, fluid checks)
