Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and responsible Driver – Logistics & Delivery professional to join our team in Brown’s Town, St. Ann. This vital role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials using a company-provided vehicle, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups across various locations within St. Ann and surrounding parishes. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will be the face of our service, interacting with clients and representing our commitment to excellence. We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic, exceptional driving skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and safety.
Your day will involve meticulous planning, careful loading and unloading, and navigating local routes with precision. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational integrity of your assigned vehicle, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This position requires someone who is not only a skilled driver but also detail-oriented in handling paperwork, managing delivery manifests, and ensuring all deliveries are accounted for accurately. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling, securing cargo, and adhering to safety protocols.
- Follow delivery schedules and routes, adjusting for traffic and weather conditions as necessary to ensure timely arrivals.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Communicate professionally with clients, dispatch, and other team members, providing updates on delivery status and resolving any issues.
- Adhere to all local traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and organized, presenting a professional image.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaican Class C or higher preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (abstract required)
- Excellent knowledge of St. Ann and surrounding parish road networks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Punctual, reliable, and responsible
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with delivery tracking systems or mobile logistics applications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
