Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-provided vehicles for the transportation and delivery of goods.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, navigating Negril and surrounding areas.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions, maintaining accurate logs of deliveries and pick-ups.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring vehicle is in optimal condition.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company safety policies.
- Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned company vehicle.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions at delivery points.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Class B or C endorsement, as applicable)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for at least 3 years
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of Negril and Westmoreland area road networks
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with route optimization software or GPS systems
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
