Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our network of professional drivers for a key role in Highlands, Curepipe. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver to contribute to the efficient flow of goods and services, ensuring timely deliveries and upholding high standards of operational excellence. As a Driver, you will be a critical link in the supply chain, responsible for the safe and punctual transportation of various items, interacting with clients, and representing our partners with professionalism and integrity.

Your day-to-day will involve navigating local routes, managing delivery schedules, and ensuring the proper handling of goods. We value drivers who possess strong communication skills, an excellent understanding of local road networks, and a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and safety checks. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the transportation of goods and personnel.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, adhering to strict schedules.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
  • Ensure all cargo is properly secured and handled with care to prevent damage during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of goods when necessary.
  • Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, waybills, and proof of delivery forms.
  • Perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure, and report major issues promptly.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class 3 (or equivalent) Mauritian driving license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in a logistics or delivery role
  • Excellent knowledge of Highlands, Curepipe, and surrounding regions road networks
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and French (Creole also an asset)
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving packages as required
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws
  • Punctual, reliable, and responsible

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
  • First Aid and Defensive Driving certifications
  • Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, light trucks)
  • Customer service orientation and a polite demeanor
