Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles (vans, light trucks) for the transportation of goods within Plaisance, Rose Hill, and surrounding regions.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries and pick-ups, considering traffic and road conditions.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Assist with warehouse duties, such as sorting, packing, and organizing goods, when not on the road.
- Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Handle sensitive documents and packages with utmost care and confidentiality.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 2/3 driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a logistics or delivery role.
- Strong knowledge of local routes and road networks in Plaisance, Rose Hill, and surrounding areas.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 25kg) safely.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary school certificate or equivalent.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and delivery tracking software.
- Familiarity with inventory management procedures.
- First Aid certification.
