We are seeking a highly motivated and patient Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) who is passionate about delivering exceptional driving education and guiding learners through the entire journey, from their very first lesson to successfully obtaining their driving license. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, structured, and engaging driving lessons tailored to individual student needs. You will manage your own diary, maintain your instruction vehicle to a high standard, and meticulously track student progress. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, structured driving lessons to learners of all experience levels.
- Assess student progress and tailor teaching methods to individual learning styles and needs.
- Prepare students thoroughly for both their theory and practical driving tests.
- Provide comprehensive guidance on road safety, Highway Code rules, and responsible driving habits.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and lesson plans.
- Manage your own schedule effectively to maximise teaching hours and student availability.
- Ensure your instruction vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary safety features.
- Offer post-test support and advanced driving courses as required (e.g., Pass Plus).
- Stay updated with changes in driving regulations, test requirements, and teaching methodologies.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and the Career.zycto administrative team.
Required Skills
- Valid Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification (Green Badge Holder)
- Excellent knowledge of the Highway Code and current driving test standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Reliable and punctual with a professional demeanour
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to suit diverse learners
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and scheduling
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a full-time driving instructor (2+ years)
- Pass Plus registered instructor
- Experience with diverse student populations (e.g., neurodivergent learners, non-native English speakers)
- Advanced driving qualification (e.g., RoSPA Advanced Driver, IAM Advanced Driver)
- Strong local knowledge of Mottram and Manchester driving test routes
