Career.zycto is expanding its innovative team in Plagwitz, Leipzig, and we are looking for a dedicated Drone Pilot to operate our state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections and risk assessments to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Operate various types of UAVs safely and efficiently in diverse environments, adhering to all local and national aviation regulations (e.g., EASA rules).
- Execute flight missions according to project specifications for data collection, photography, videography, and inspection tasks.
- Monitor drone performance during flights, making real-time adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure the capture of high-quality aerial data (e.g., imagery, video, thermal data, LiDAR data) as per project requirements.
- Perform routine post-flight maintenance, charging, and inventory management of drone equipment and accessories.
- Maintain detailed flight logs, equipment logs, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with project managers and data analysts to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Assist with basic data processing and quality control checks for collected aerial data.
- Stay updated with the latest drone technology, regulations, and best practices in the industry.
Required Skills
- Certified Drone Pilot (e.g., EASA A2/Open Category certificate or equivalent national license).
- Proven experience in operating professional-grade drones (e.g., DJI Matrice series, Wingtra, Autel EVO).
- In-depth knowledge of aviation safety protocols and European/German drone regulations.
- Proficiency in flight planning software (e.g., DJI GS Pro, Pix4Dcapture, UgCS).
- Strong technical aptitude for troubleshooting drone hardware and software issues.
- Excellent spatial awareness and precise manual control skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced photogrammetry or mapping software (e.g., Pix4Dmapper, Agisoft Metashape, DroneDeploy).
- Familiarity with LiDAR or thermal imaging drone payloads.
- Previous experience in surveying, construction, infrastructure inspection, or media production using drones.
- Knowledge of German language (B1 level or higher) for local communication.
- Bachelor's degree or vocational training in a relevant field (e.g., Geoinformatics, Photography, Aviation).
