Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Drone Pilot to join our dynamic team in Rosenheim, Germany. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to operate advanced unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for a variety of critical missions, including detailed inspections, precise surveying, aerial photography, and data collection across diverse sectors such as infrastructure, construction, environmental monitoring, and media production.

As a Drone Pilot, you will be instrumental in executing flight operations from planning and pre-flight checks to in-flight data acquisition and post-flight procedures. We are looking for an individual with a deep understanding of drone technology, aviation regulations, and a meticulous approach to safety and data integrity. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects while adhering to all local and international aviation laws and company protocols.

You will work closely with project managers, data analysts, and clients to deliver high-quality aerial data that meets specific project objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute safe and efficient drone flight operations according to project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections, flight path planning, battery management, and post-flight data retrieval and initial processing.
  • Operate various types of drones (e.g., DJI Matrice, Wingtra, senseFly) equipped with different sensors (RGB, thermal, LiDAR, multispectral).
  • Monitor drone performance during flight and make real-time adjustments as necessary to ensure data quality and operational safety.
  • Adhere strictly to EASA regulations, local German aviation laws, and company safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project goals and deliver high-quality aerial data.
  • Maintain drones and associated equipment, including regular cleaning, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Document flight logs, incident reports, and operational procedures thoroughly.
  • Stay informed about advancements in drone technology, software, and regulations.

Required Skills

  • Valid EU Drone Pilot License (e.g., A2/Open Category and/or Specific Category authorization).
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience operating drones for commercial purposes.
  • Proficiency with various drone platforms and payload sensors.
  • Strong understanding of aviation principles, aerodynamics, and meteorology.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and manual piloting skills.
  • Ability to interpret maps, GPS coordinates, and flight planning software.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong commitment to safety.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to dynamic field conditions.
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Surveying, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape) for initial data processing.
  • Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Experience with LiDAR drone operations.
  • Certifications in first aid and emergency response.
