Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various types of drones (multi-rotor, fixed-wing) safely and efficiently for data collection.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight checks, mission planning, risk assessments, and post-flight data processing.
- Ensure strict adherence to all aviation regulations, company policies, and safety protocols during all operations.
- Collect high-quality aerial data (e.g., imagery, video, LiDAR) according to project specifications and client requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of drone equipment and associated payloads.
- Manage and organize collected data, ensuring proper storage, backup, and handover to data analysis teams.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding mission progress, challenges, and results.
- Stay updated with the latest drone technology, software, and regulatory changes in the UAS industry.
- Assist in the development and refinement of operational procedures and safety manuals.
- Participate in training and continuous professional development programs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a professional drone pilot with a strong flight record.
- Valid drone pilot license/certification (e.g., EU Open Category A1/A2/A3, Specific Category) applicable in Germany.
- In-depth knowledge of drone hardware, software, and payload operations.
- Familiarity with relevant aviation regulations and airspace management.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and risk mitigation strategies in UAS operations.
- Proficiency in mission planning software and GPS navigation systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues in the field.
- Valid driver's license (Class B) for travel to various project sites.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific industry applications (e.g., photogrammetry, thermography, LiDAR surveying).
- Proficiency in data processing software (e.g., Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, ArcGIS).
- Technical degree or certification in aviation, engineering, geography, or a related field.
