Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead educators in planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate educational activities.
- Provide direct supervision and care for children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and meal times.
- Support children's social and emotional development through positive interactions and guidance.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and organize learning materials, art supplies, and classroom resources.
- Observe and document children's progress and participation, reporting insights to lead educators.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding daily activities and children's well-being, under the guidance of lead staff.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development workshops, and centre events as required.
- Assist with snack and meal preparation and cleanup, ensuring dietary needs are met.
Required Skills
- Proven experience working with young children (0-6 years) in a supervised setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for early childhood development.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from lead educators.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe and stimulating environment for children.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of an Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or degree program.
- Familiarity with play-based learning philosophies and current best practices in early childhood education.
- Experience in a culturally diverse childcare setting.
- Basic knowledge of a second language, particularly Mandarin or Cantonese, is an asset but not required.
