Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Education Officer with a strong focus on planning and development to join our dedicated team in Rose Hill. This pivotal role involves contributing significantly to the strategic advancement of educational initiatives across Mauritius. You will be instrumental in analyzing current educational landscapes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing innovative programs that align with national development goals. As an Education Officer, you will be at the forefront of driving change, working closely with stakeholders from government bodies, educational institutions, NGOs, and local communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of existing educational policies, curricula, and practices to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, plan, and implement strategic educational projects and programs in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Draft detailed project proposals, action plans, budgets, and reports for various educational initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions, workshops, and consultations with educators, government officials, parents, and community leaders.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of educational projects, ensuring adherence to objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on project outcomes, recommendations, and best practices for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice and technical support on educational planning and development matters.
  • Stay abreast of national and international trends and innovations in education to inform strategic planning.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and capacity-building programs for educators and educational administrators.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in educational planning, project management, or policy development.
  • Proven ability to conduct research, analyze data, and formulate evidence-based recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Planning, or Development.
  • Experience working with government agencies or international development organizations in the education sector.
  • Familiarity with the Mauritian education system and its regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Mauritian Creole.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
