Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, always respecting client dignity and privacy.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques safely.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management as prescribed.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals, considering dietary requirements and preferences.
- Perform light household duties, ensuring a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Offer companionship, engage in meaningful conversations, and participate in recreational activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, or errands as needed.
- Monitor and report any changes in a client's health, behaviour, or well-being to the senior care coordinator.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, company policies, and care plans.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a care setting.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks and assist with client mobility.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with elderly individuals, ideally in a home care setting.
- First Aid certification.
- Valid UK Driving License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to the local community.
