Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, always respecting client dignity and privacy.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques safely.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management as prescribed.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals, considering dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Perform light household duties, ensuring a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Offer companionship, engage in meaningful conversations, and participate in recreational activities.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, or errands as needed.
  • Monitor and report any changes in a client's health, behaviour, or well-being to the senior care coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, company policies, and care plans.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a care setting.
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks and assist with client mobility.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with elderly individuals, ideally in a home care setting.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Valid UK Driving License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficiency in a second language relevant to the local community.
