Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support with light housekeeping tasks, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Administer medication reminders as per individualized care plans.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities.
- Monitor and report any changes in client's health, behavior, or cognitive status.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities, hobbies, and conversation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential care records, communicating effectively with family members and the care team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in elderly care, home health, or a related field.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong empathy, patience, and a genuinely compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to diligently follow care plans and adapt to individual client needs.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
- Basic cooking and light housekeeping abilities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working with clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
- Familiarity with local community resources in Coeur d’Alene.
