Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Provide medication reminders and monitor clients' health status, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate contact.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences, and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying living areas, and grocery shopping.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities like conversations, reading, games, or gentle exercises.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment for the client.
- Document care provided and observations accurately and promptly.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and our support team.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion for the elderly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written English).
- Ability to perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Physical ability to assist with mobility and transfers as needed.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic understanding of first aid and emergency procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Caregiver certification (e.g., Personal Support Worker, Health Care Aide).
- Previous experience (paid or unpaid) in elderly care or a related field.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of basic health monitoring (e.g., blood pressure, temperature).
