Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Mutoko, Mashonaland East Province. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and expansion of our electrical distribution network within the region. Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of electrical infrastructure to identify potential faults and areas for improvement.
- Investigate and diagnose complex electrical faults, implementing effective and timely solutions to minimize downtime.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation for various electrical projects.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international electrical safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff, technicians, and contractors involved in electrical works.
- Collaborate with other departments, stakeholders, and local communities on electrification projects and service delivery.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to enhance system reliability and longevity.
- Prepare detailed technical reports on system performance, incidents, and project progress.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in electrical power systems, specifically distribution networks.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for electrical design and drafting.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Class 4 driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe (ECZ).
- Experience with SCADA systems and network automation technologies.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Familiarity with GIS mapping tools for utility network management.
- Post-graduate qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
