Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Transcona, Winnipeg. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of innovative projects, from conceptual design through to implementation and testing. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems for various applications, ensuring their efficiency, reliability, and safety. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs and exceed industry standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for new and existing projects, adhering to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform circuit design, PCB layout, and schematic capture using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct electrical simulations, analyses, and calculations to ensure performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and execute test plans for electrical prototypes and products, identifying and resolving design flaws or operational issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical and software components.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for electrical systems during commissioning and field operations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in electrical engineering.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
  • Experience with PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad).
  • Strong understanding of power electronics, control systems, and analogue/digital circuit design.
  • Familiarity with industry electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., CSA, UL, NEC).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Manitoba, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or SPICE.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience in project management or leading small technical teams.
