Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
- Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams accurately.
- Prepare and clean work sites, ensuring all tools and materials are organized and ready for use.
- Cut, bend, and thread conduit, and pull wire through conduit under supervision.
- Support with testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, codes, and regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times.
- Support troubleshooting efforts by observing and learning from experienced electricians.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any malfunctions or damage.
- Attend technical instruction and classroom learning as required by the apprenticeship program to develop theoretical knowledge.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including attendance, punctuality, and conduct.
Required Skills
- Strong desire and aptitude to learn the electrical trade.
- Basic understanding of common hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
