Matekane Group of Companies (MGC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Electrician Apprentice to join our growing team in Morija, Maseru. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Learn and apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes under supervision.
- Prepare and clean work sites, ensuring all tools and materials are organized and accounted for.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment common to the electrical trade.
- Help troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and assist in diagnosing system issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate actively in on-the-job training and formal apprenticeship coursework as required.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (LGCSE/COSC)
- Basic understanding of mathematics and mechanical principles
- Strong eagerness to learn and develop practical trade skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a foundational vocational or technical course in electrical work
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience in a construction or trade-related environment (even voluntary)
