Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures, ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations (e.g., BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations).
- Read blueprints and technical diagrams to determine wiring layouts, ensuring proper installation.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent future issues.
- Provide accurate estimates for work to be completed and record materials used.
- Collaborate with other trades professionals and clients to ensure project completion.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of all work performed and inspections conducted.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Electrician.
- Valid 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety procedures and statutory regulations.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.
- Experience with commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Current CSCS card.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience working in a city centre environment.
