Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in diverse settings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine appropriate wiring layouts and specifications.
  • Perform inspections and tests of electrical systems to ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and local regulations.
  • Connect electrical power to residential, commercial, and industrial equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical problems, including short circuits, faulty wiring, and component malfunctions.
  • Complete preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and adheres to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.

Required Skills

  • Journeyperson Electrician certification or equivalent recognized international credential.
  • Minimum 4 years (48 months) of verifiable experience as a qualified Electrician.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local electrical safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical issues.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical systems, components, and wiring practices.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs, VFDs).
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems (solar, wind).
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial or institutional projects.
  • Additional certifications in specialized electrical fields (e.g., high voltage, instrumentation).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
