Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in diverse settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine appropriate wiring layouts and specifications.
- Perform inspections and tests of electrical systems to ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and local regulations.
- Connect electrical power to residential, commercial, and industrial equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical problems, including short circuits, faulty wiring, and component malfunctions.
- Complete preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and adheres to company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
Required Skills
- Journeyperson Electrician certification or equivalent recognized international credential.
- Minimum 4 years (48 months) of verifiable experience as a qualified Electrician.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local electrical safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical issues.
- Excellent understanding of electrical systems, components, and wiring practices.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs, VFDs).
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems (solar, wind).
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or institutional projects.
- Additional certifications in specialized electrical fields (e.g., high voltage, instrumentation).
