Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly and wiring.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine checks on electrical systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electricians or apprentices.
- Prepare accurate reports and documentation for completed work and material usage.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in electrical wiring and installation techniques
- Strong knowledge of national electrical codes and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Experience with various electrical tools and testing equipment (multimeters, circuit testers, etc.)
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical faults
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and precision in work
- Physical dexterity and strength for manual tasks
- Valid Electrician's license or equivalent certification
