Job Description
Are you a skilled and dedicated Electrician with a passion for precision and safety? Gamma Civic Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our dynamic team in Vacoas-Phoenix. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for a wide array of electrical tasks, primarily focusing on the wiring, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across our diverse projects, which span commercial, industrial, and residential sites. You will work with various tools and equipment, ensuring that all electrical work adheres to national and international safety standards, building codes, and company specifications. This position demands a meticulous approach to problem-solving, a strong understanding of electrical schematics, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Perform new electrical installations and upgrades in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and malfunctions.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local regulations, and company safety standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Install conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformity to building and safety codes.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Electrician with a focus on wiring and installation.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to electrical work.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a recognized electrician's license or certification in Mauritius.
- Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems (PLCs, motor controls).
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
