Job Description
Are you a highly skilled and dedicated Electrician seeking a dynamic opportunity to apply your expertise in wiring, repair, and maintenance of diverse electrical systems? Eclosia Group, a leading diversified conglomerate in Mauritius, is looking for a meticulous and safety-conscious Electrician to join our dedicated facilities and project teams in the Rivière du Rempart District. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure across our various sites, which may include commercial properties, industrial facilities, and ongoing development projects.
As an Electrician with Eclosia Group, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of electrical integrity and functionality. Your daily tasks will encompass a wide spectrum of activities, from performing intricate wiring installations in new constructions and refurbishments to conducting thorough diagnostic checks and executing timely repairs on existing systems. This includes working with a variety of electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, generators, lighting systems, motor controls, and sophisticated control panels. You will be expected to interpret complex technical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately, ensuring all work adheres strictly to local electrical codes, particularly the Electricity Act and relevant Mauritian standards, as well as stringent company safety regulations and quality guidelines.
A key aspect of this role involves proactive and reactive maintenance. You will conduct regular preventative maintenance checks to identify and mitigate potential issues before they escalate, thereby minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity. When unexpected faults occur, you will be responsible for rapidly troubleshooting electrical malfunctions using advanced diagnostic tools, identifying root causes, and implementing effective, long-lasting repair solutions. This often requires critical thinking under pressure and and a systematic approach to problem-solving. Furthermore, you will be involved in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and adherence to manufacturer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the layouts of electrical systems.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with national and local electrical codes, including the Mauritian Electricity Act.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components to ensure operational reliability and extend lifespan.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance and repair work performed.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff, engineers, and project managers on various projects.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Electrician, particularly in wiring and repair.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Strong understanding of national and local electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to use various electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, multimeters, conduit benders).
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in various environments (heights, confined spaces).
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or relevant certification in electrical installation or maintenance.
- Certificate of Competency as an Electrician issued by a recognized authority in Mauritius.
- Experience with industrial electrical systems and control panels.
- Valid driver's license (manual transmission) and access to reliable transportation.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
