Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and resilient Emergency Controller to join a critical operations team in Hellersdorf, Berlin. This full-time position demands an individual with exceptional composure under pressure, acute problem-solving abilities, and a profound commitment to public safety. As an Emergency Controller, you will be at the heart of incident management, responsible for coordinating responses to a diverse range of emergencies, from technical system failures to urgent public safety matters. Your day-to-day will involve monitoring surveillance systems, receiving and dispatching emergency calls, documenting incidents accurately, and effectively communicating with internal teams and external emergency services. This is not just a job; it’s a vital role that ensures the seamless flow of critical information and resources, safeguarding lives and assets. We are looking for someone who can maintain clarity and authority in chaotic situations, making quick, informed decisions that have immediate and significant consequences. You will play a pivotal part in maintaining operational integrity and ensuring rapid, efficient intervention. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, prioritize, and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with urgency and professionalism.
  • Dispatch appropriate personnel and resources (e.g., security, maintenance, emergency services) based on incident severity and protocols.
  • Monitor various security and operational systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm panels, to detect and respond to potential threats or incidents.
  • Accurately document all incidents, actions taken, and communications in real-time, maintaining precise records for future analysis.
  • Provide clear, concise, and crucial information to responders in the field, ensuring they are well-briefed and supported.
  • Coordinate with external emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) to facilitate integrated response efforts.
  • Manage and track the status of ongoing incidents until resolution, providing updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Adhere strictly to all operational procedures, safety regulations, and data protection guidelines.
  • Participate in regular training and drills to enhance response capabilities and stay current with best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for emergency response protocols and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dispatch, control room, or emergency coordination role.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under extreme pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German (C1 level minimum) and English (B2 level minimum).
  • Proficiency in using dispatch software, CCTV monitoring systems, and other relevant control room technologies.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Berlin, particularly Hellersdorf and surrounding districts.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Customer-service orientation with a strong sense of empathy and professionalism.
  • Clean criminal record and willingness to undergo background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal qualification or certification in emergency management, public safety, or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and emergency response networks in Berlin.
  • Previous experience in a 24/7 operational environment.
