Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in English (reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, literature, speaking, listening).
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning objectives.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
- Create engaging and interactive learning activities to foster a positive and effective educational experience.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and session notes.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents (if applicable), and Career.zycto staff regarding student performance and any concerns.
- Stay updated on best practices in English language instruction and incorporate new techniques into tutoring sessions.
- Adhere to Career.zycto's educational standards and ethical guidelines for tutoring.
Required Skills
- Exceptional proficiency in English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with students.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with online communication tools for remote sessions.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Demonstrated passion for education and helping others learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in English, Education, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field.
- Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, or tutoring, even in an informal capacity.
- Familiarity with various English curricula and standardized test formats (e.g., SAT, ACT English sections).
- Experience working with diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of ESL/ELL teaching methodologies.
