Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Entry Level Ethical Hacker Assistant to join our growing cybersecurity team in North End, Halifax. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior ethical hackers in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration tests across various client environments.
- Learn and apply standard ethical hacking tools and methodologies under supervision.
- Document findings, vulnerabilities, and steps to reproduce issues accurately and comprehensively.
- Participate in debriefing sessions and contribute to the development of actionable remediation recommendations.
- Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors to stay current with the cybersecurity landscape.
- Help maintain and update security testing environments and tools.
- Support the preparation of detailed technical reports for clients, outlining security risks and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance security processes and practices.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training, certifications, and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, or information security
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
