Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments accurately, verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations within the stockroom, ensuring easy accessibility and proper rotation.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and contribute to maintaining accurate stock records through diligent entry.
- Prepare and package items efficiently for outgoing shipments or internal transfers, adhering to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the stockroom at all times, including sweeping and tidying.
- Operate basic material handling equipment safely, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, following all safety guidelines.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly to ensure immediate action.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient stockroom operations.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a secure workplace.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and safely.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate inventory tasks and record-keeping.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks required for stockroom operations.
- Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience (even informal or volunteer) in a retail, warehouse, or stockroom environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or basic computer skills for data entry.
- Forklift certification or experience with other material handling equipment is a plus, but not required.
- Valid driver's license.
