Key Responsibilities
- Assist videographers with camera setup, operation, and breakdown during shoots.
- Manage and organize camera equipment, ensuring all gear is accounted for and well-maintained.
- Set up and adjust lighting and audio equipment according to production requirements.
- Handle data wrangling, including transferring, backing up, and organizing footage post-shoot.
- Prepare shooting locations, ensuring safety protocols are followed and necessary permits are in place.
- Provide on-set support to talent and crew, including fetching props, managing craft services, and general errands.
- Support post-production efforts by logging footage, preparing project files, and assisting with basic editing tasks.
- Learn and apply best practices for video production, camera operation, lighting, and sound.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, communicating clearly and contributing positively to the production environment.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of video cameras and associated equipment (lenses, tripods, stabilizers).
- Fundamental understanding of lighting and audio recording principles.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry camera equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proactive attitude and a strong eagerness to learn new skills.
- Reliable transportation to various shoot locations within Nutana, Saskatoon and surrounding areas.
- Proficiency with common computer software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Film Production, Broadcasting, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Prior experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) is a plus.
