Career.zycto is actively recruiting on behalf of a prominent healthcare facility in Regina, Saskatchewan, for a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room (ER) Nurse ready for immediate deployment. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid and thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms, to identify emergent conditions.
  • Implement and manage nursing care plans for patients in various stages of emergency, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions.
  • Administer medications, blood products, and intravenous fluids as per physician orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and other diagnostic data to inform patient care decisions.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, paramedics, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide emotional support and clear explanations to patients and their families during stressful and challenging times.
  • Operate and troubleshoot various medical equipment, including defibrillators, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately and completely in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Participate in emergency response codes and provide advanced life support as required.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Educate patients and families on post-discharge care, medication management, and follow-up appointments.

Required Skills

  • Current registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association (SRNA).
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Sound knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
  • Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in Emergency Nursing.
  • Experience with triage systems such as the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS).
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the diverse population of Regina.
  • Mentorship experience or a willingness to mentor junior staff.
