Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, and fire safety equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, performing timely and effective repairs to minimize operational downtime and ensure tenant comfort.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from tenants, property managers, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and maintain critical utility systems, including water supply, power distribution, and waste management, ensuring optimal performance.
- Oversee and coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, installations, and larger maintenance projects.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and inventory of parts and tools.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant safety regulations, building codes, and company policies at all times.
- Assist in the setup and dismantle of equipment and facilities for events or specific operational requirements.
- Provide regular reports on facility status, ongoing maintenance needs, and completed tasks to management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Facility Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in an estate or commercial setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of building equipment and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and tenants.
- Basic computer literacy for maintenance logging and record-keeping.
- Physical stamina and dexterity required for hands-on tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or diploma from an accredited institution in a relevant trade (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology).
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or Smart Building technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices in facilities management.
- Valid driver's license for potential travel between properties.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
