Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled Estate Facility Technician to join our team in Shomolu, Lagos. In this vital full-time role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal functioning, safety, and aesthetic maintenance of our diverse estate properties. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from routine inspections and preventive maintenance to addressing unexpected repairs and managing service requests. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of various building systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of property upkeep. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background, be adept at troubleshooting, and capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively with the broader facility management team. Your contributions will directly impact the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our occupants, making this a rewarding opportunity for a detail-oriented professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems across estate properties to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks on all facility equipment and systems, adhering to established schedules and protocols.
  • Respond promptly to facility repair requests, troubleshooting problems, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance work, including but not limited to painting, carpentry, plastering, and general handyman tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of all technical areas and equipment rooms.
  • Assist in the coordination and oversight of external contractors for specialized repairs or projects, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and service schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the properties.
  • Provide support for property improvement projects and renovations as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Facility Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant trade certification (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
  • OND or HND in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS).
  • First aid and safety certifications.
