Job Description

We are seeking a highly vigilant, disciplined, and dedicated Estate Security Officer to join a prestigious residential estate in Guzape, Abuja. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safety and security of residents, their properties, and the overall estate premises. As an Estate Security Officer, you will be the frontline representative of safety, maintaining peace of mind through proactive surveillance, diligent access control, and swift response to any security concerns. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the entire estate, including perimeters, common areas, and designated zones, both on foot and via patrol vehicle.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras (CCTV) and alarm systems, promptly identifying and reporting any suspicious activities or breaches.
  • Manage and enforce strict access control procedures for residents, visitors, contractors, and vehicles entering and exiting the estate.
  • Respond effectively and professionally to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, including medical emergencies, fire alerts, and criminal activities, coordinating with relevant authorities when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and visitor records, ensuring all documentation is detailed and up-to-date.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, assisting with inquiries and providing directions while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Enforce estate rules and regulations, politely addressing non-compliance and reporting persistent issues to management.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of security equipment, ensuring all systems are functional and reporting any malfunctions.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance security knowledge, emergency response protocols, and customer service skills.
  • Act as a visible deterrent to crime, fostering a safe and secure environment for all residents and staff.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in security operations, preferably within a residential or corporate estate setting.
  • Excellent observational and patrolling skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for reporting and interacting with residents.
  • Ability to operate CCTV and other security surveillance equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making under pressure.
  • Sound understanding of security protocols and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Security Management or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid Security Guard License or relevant security certifications (e.g., ASIS, CSO).
  • Previous experience with access control software systems.
  • A valid driver’s license (if required for patrol vehicle operation).
  • Fluency in additional local languages.
