Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy efficient and scalable ETL processes and data pipelines using various ETL tools and scripting languages.
  • Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing ETL jobs to ensure data integrity, performance, and reliability.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and error handling mechanisms within ETL workflows.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all ETL processes, data flows, and data models.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of data warehouse solutions, including dimensional models and star/snowflake schemas.
  • Work closely with database administrators to ensure optimal database performance for ETL operations.
  • Stay updated with emerging ETL technologies, tools, and best practices to continually improve our data infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers and other team members.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience as an ETL Developer or Data Engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, querying, and optimization.
  • Extensive experience with at least one major ETL tool (e.g., SSIS, Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, DataStage, Apache Nifi).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and OLAP.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for data processing and automation.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow).
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
