Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy efficient and scalable ETL processes and data pipelines using various ETL tools and scripting languages.
- Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing ETL jobs to ensure data integrity, performance, and reliability.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and error handling mechanisms within ETL workflows.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all ETL processes, data flows, and data models.
- Participate in the design and implementation of data warehouse solutions, including dimensional models and star/snowflake schemas.
- Work closely with database administrators to ensure optimal database performance for ETL operations.
- Stay updated with emerging ETL technologies, tools, and best practices to continually improve our data infrastructure.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers and other team members.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience as an ETL Developer or Data Engineer.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, querying, and optimization.
- Extensive experience with at least one major ETL tool (e.g., SSIS, Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, DataStage, Apache Nifi).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and OLAP.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for data processing and automation.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
