Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and the event planning team to understand decor needs, themes, and budgets.
- Develop innovative and unique decor concepts, mood boards, and visual presentations for various events (weddings, corporate, social).
- Source and procure decorative elements, materials, and props, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare, assemble, and customize decor items in our workshop prior to events.
- Lead and execute on-site decor setup and teardown, ensuring timely and flawless installation.
- Manage and supervise junior decorators or setup assistants during installations.
- Maintain inventory of decor items, ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and repair.
- Stay updated with current decor trends, techniques, and innovations in the event industry.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Manage project timelines and resources effectively to meet deadlines.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Event Decorator or similar creative role.
- Exceptional creativity and an innovative approach to design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse event decor projects.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp) is a plus but not strictly required.
- Excellent knowledge of decor materials, textiles, lighting, and floral arrangements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related creative field.
- Experience working with high-profile clients or large-scale events.
- Valid Kenyan driving license with a clean record.
- Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Swahili, Kikuyu) is an advantage.
