Key Responsibilities
- Develop and present creative design concepts, mood boards, and detailed proposals for various event themes and client briefs.
- Source, procure, and manage decorative elements, including florals, lighting, linens, furniture, props, and custom installations, ensuring adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate logistics for decor setup and teardown, including transportation of materials, scheduling, and on-site team management.
- Lead and participate actively in the physical setup and styling of event venues, ensuring all decorative elements are installed correctly and aesthetically pleasing.
- Collaborate closely with clients, event planners, and other vendors to ensure a cohesive and integrated event design.
- Maintain inventory of decorative items, ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and repair as needed.
- Stay abreast of current event design trends, materials, and techniques to continuously bring fresh and innovative ideas to our projects.
- Conduct site visits to assess venue suitability, identify potential challenges, and develop comprehensive decor plans.
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines are strictly followed during setup, execution, and teardown phases.
- Provide clear direction and mentorship to junior decorators or temporary staff when required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in event decoration, floral design, or interior styling.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of event design projects.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively.
- Exceptional organisational and project management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Full UK driving license and access to reliable transportation.
