Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Event Decorator to join our growing team in Redland, Bristol. This role is crucial to our mission of creating magical and memorable events that exceed client expectations. As an Event Decorator, you will be responsible for the creative design, planning, and meticulous execution of event décor, transforming venues into breathtaking settings. You will work closely with clients, understanding their vision and translating it into stunning reality, covering everything from conceptualization to the final flawless setup. This is a hands-on role requiring both artistic flair and practical skills, involving significant physical activity during setup and breakdown. You’ll be instrumental in selecting themes, colour schemes, floral arrangements, lighting, props, and all decorative elements. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses exceptional organisational abilities, and has a keen eye for aesthetics. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budget for event décor.
  • Develop innovative design concepts, mood boards, and detailed proposals for various events (weddings, corporate functions, parties etc.).
  • Source, purchase, and manage inventory of decorative items, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead or assist with the physical setup and breakdown of event décor at various venues across Bristol and surrounding areas, often outside regular business hours.
  • Work effectively with other event professionals, including florists, caterers, and AV technicians, to ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain all decorative inventory in excellent condition, including cleaning, repair, and storage.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring all décor elements are ready and installed according to schedule.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies during all setup and breakdown activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the event planning and execution process.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in event decorating, styling, or visual merchandising.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative design skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in basic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) for creating visual proposals.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift, carry, and set up heavy décor items, often requiring prolonged standing and manual dexterity.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to reliable transportation for transporting décor to venues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in Event Management, Interior Design, Floral Design, or a related creative field.
  • Experience with large-scale corporate events or high-end wedding décor.
  • Knowledge of current event trends and industry best practices.
  • Experience managing a small team or directing assistants during event setup.
