Career.zycto is seeking a highly imaginative and skilled Event Decorator to join our dynamic team in Whitehall, Bristol. This pivotal role involves conceptualizing, designing, and executing stunning decor for a diverse range of events, including weddings, corporate gatherings, private parties, and public installations.

As an Event Decorator – Venue Setup & Styling specialist, you will be the artistic force behind making our clients’ visions a tangible reality. You’ll work closely with clients from initial consultation to final delivery, translating their ideas and themes into comprehensive design plans. Your responsibilities will span the entire creative process, from selecting colour palettes, floral arrangements, lighting schemes, and furniture to sourcing unique props and textiles. This role requires not just an eye for beauty, but also strong logistical skills to manage inventory, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure seamless on-site setup and dismantling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budgetary requirements for various events.
  • Develop innovative and cohesive event design concepts, mood boards, and detailed proposals.
  • Source and select appropriate decorative elements, including floral arrangements, lighting, linens, furniture, props, and signage.
  • Manage inventory of decorative items, ensuring proper care, storage, and maintenance.
  • Execute on-site setup and styling of event venues, including arranging decor, lighting, and stage elements.
  • Oversee the efficient dismantling and packing of all decorative items post-event.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., event planners, operations) and external vendors to ensure seamless execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any on-site design or setup challenges promptly and creatively.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current event design trends, techniques, and materials.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and quality standards during all setup and dismantling processes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Event Decorator, Venue Stylist, or similar role with a strong portfolio.
  • Exceptional creative flair and a keen eye for aesthetics, colour, and composition.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for mood boards and proposals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client consultations and team collaboration.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to last-minute changes.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift, carry, and maneuver decorative items during setup and breakdown.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Floral Design, Visual Arts, or a related creative field.
  • Experience with large-scale corporate events or high-end wedding decor.
  • Knowledge of carpentry or construction for custom prop building.
  • Familiarity with event management software or project tracking tools.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or lead decorator role.
