Located on the stunning west coast of Mauritius, Sugar Beach is renowned for its elegant colonial architecture, lush tropical gardens, and impeccable service, making it a premier destination for both breathtaking weddings and sophisticated corporate gatherings. This role, while based in Camp Levieux, Rose Hill for administrative and planning functions, will involve extensive coordination and presence at our beautiful resort venue.

As our Event Planner, you will be at the forefront of crafting unforgettable experiences for our discerning clientele. This pivotal role involves end-to-end management of a diverse portfolio of events, ranging from intimate, dream-come-true weddings to large-scale, high-profile corporate conferences, incentive trips, and special celebrations. You will be responsible for understanding client visions, translating them into detailed plans, and meticulously executing every aspect to perfection. This includes comprehensive concept development, intricate venue design and setup, meticulous vendor coordination (florists, photographers, entertainers, AV specialists), rigorous budget management, and seamless on-site supervision to ensure every detail unfolds flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of wedding and corporate events, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
  • Conduct detailed client consultations to understand event objectives, preferences, and budget.
  • Develop creative event concepts, proposals, and detailed execution plans tailored to client specifications.
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring all financial targets are met.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (culinary, F&B, banqueting, sales, front office) to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage external vendors (florists, photographers, entertainers, audio-visual providers, transport) to secure the best services and rates.
  • Oversee all logistical arrangements, including venue setup, decor, catering, guest flow, and technical requirements.
  • Provide on-site supervision during events to ensure flawless execution and address any immediate needs or issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, event technologies, and best practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive post-event reports and conduct client debriefs to gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination, specifically with weddings and corporate events.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
