Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly creative, organized, and experienced Freelance Event Planner specializing in both wedding and corporate events to join our network of top-tier talent. Based in Bellefield, Mandeville, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, planning, and executing unforgettable events that exceed client expectations. This role offers the flexibility of freelance work, allowing you to manage multiple projects while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
As an Event Planner, you will be the driving force behind the success of each occasion, from the initial consultation and budgeting to vendor management and on-site coordination. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their vision, translating it into a meticulously planned and flawlessly executed event. Whether it’s crafting a dream wedding for a couple or orchestrating a seamless corporate conference, your expertise will ensure every detail is handled with precision and flair. We are looking for a self-starter with a proven track record in event management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating memorable experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client consultations to understand event objectives, preferences, and budget for weddings and corporate functions.
- Develop detailed event proposals, including theme concepts, mood boards, timelines, and comprehensive budgets.
- Source and negotiate with vendors (caterers, venues, decorators, photographers, entertainment, etc.) to secure the best services and rates.
- Manage all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, layout, seating arrangements, audio-visual requirements, and transportation.
- Oversee event marketing and promotion strategies for corporate events, if required by the client.
- Coordinate on-site event execution, ensuring all elements run smoothly and according to schedule.
- Handle unexpected issues or emergencies professionally and efficiently during events.
- Manage client communication throughout the planning process, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, venues, and vendor offerings in Jamaica.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in event planning, specifically with both wedding and corporate events.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and vendors.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management for events.
