As a freelance Event Planner, you will be instrumental in transforming our clients’ visions into reality. Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their event objectives, preferences, and budgetary constraints for both wedding and corporate events.
  • Develop comprehensive event proposals, including themes, concepts, venue options, vendor recommendations, and detailed cost estimates.
  • Manage all aspects of event planning and execution, from initial concept to post-event evaluation.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors (caterers, florists, photographers, entertainers, AV specialists, etc.) to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create and adhere to detailed timelines, checklists, and budget plans for each event.
  • Oversee event logistics, including setup, décor, catering, entertainment, and on-site coordination.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and vendors throughout the planning process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during event planning or on event day.
  • Ensure all events comply with safety regulations and relevant permits.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, gather client feedback, and prepare reports on event success.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in event planning, specifically with wedding and corporate events.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial tracking for events.
  • Creative flair and a keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and event planning software.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Access to reliable transportation for site visits and event execution in Walderston and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Certification in Event Planning (e.g., Certified Meeting Professional – CMP).
  • Existing network of local vendors and service providers in Manchester, Jamaica.
  • Experience with virtual or hybrid event formats.
