Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly creative, organized, and experienced Freelance Event Planner specializing in both wedding and corporate events to join our growing network of professionals in Denbigh, May Pen. This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual with a flair for crafting unforgettable experiences and meticulously executing every detail. As a freelance event planner with our network, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing a diverse range of events, from elegant weddings that capture a couple’s unique vision to sophisticated corporate gatherings designed to impress and engage clients or employees. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand event objectives, requirements, and budget for both wedding and corporate functions.
- Develop creative and comprehensive event proposals, including themes, décor, catering, entertainment, and logistics.
- Manage all aspects of event planning from conception to post-event evaluation, ensuring seamless execution.
- Source, negotiate with, and manage vendors (caterers, venues, florists, photographers, audiovisual, etc.).
- Create detailed timelines, floor plans, and production schedules.
- Oversee on-site event setup, management, and breakdown, ensuring all elements align with the event vision.
- Manage event budgets, track expenses, and provide financial reports to clients.
- Handle client communication, feedback, and problem-solving throughout the planning process and during the event.
- Ensure all events comply with safety regulations and local ordinances.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks or issues that may arise during event planning or execution.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in event planning, with a strong portfolio in both wedding and corporate events.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Creative flair and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Budget management expertise and financial acumen.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
- Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the May Pen region and surrounding areas for events.
Preferred Qualifications

- Certification in Event Planning (e.g., CMP, CSEP).
- Established network of local vendors and suppliers in Jamaica.
- Experience with marketing and promoting event services.
