Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their vision, requirements, preferences, and budget for both wedding and corporate events.
- Develop comprehensive event proposals, including innovative themes, concepts, décor, catering, entertainment, and detailed logistical plans.
- Manage event budgets meticulously, negotiate effectively with vendors, and secure optimal contracts to maximize value and quality.
- Coordinate all event elements, ensuring timely execution, seamless transitions, and flawless flow on event days.
- Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, efficiently troubleshooting any unforeseen issues or challenges that may arise.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with a network of local vendors, venues, and suppliers across St. Elizabeth.
- Provide exceptional client service, maintaining clear, proactive, and consistent communication throughout the entire planning process.
- Ensure all events meticulously adhere to relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards and permits.
- Prepare post-event reports and evaluations to assess success and identify areas for future improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in end-to-end event planning and management for both wedding and corporate sectors.
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities with a track record of handling multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract review skills.
- Proficiency in budget management, financial oversight, and cost control.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and client communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage time effectively in a freelance capacity.
- Highly creative problem-solver, adaptable, and capable of maintaining composure under pressure.
- Proficiency with event planning software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Event Planning (e.g., Certified Special Event Professional – CSEP).
