Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and highly organized freelance Event Planner specializing in both wedding and corporate events to join our network of elite professionals in Ginger Hill, Savanna-la-Mar. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to leverage their expertise in event management across a diverse portfolio of projects, from intimate weddings and grand celebrations to impactful corporate meetings, conferences, and product launches. As a freelance Event Planner, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing events from start to finish, ensuring every detail aligns with client vision and budget. You’ll work independently to manage timelines, coordinate vendors, oversee logistics, and provide impeccable client service, all while representing the high standards of Career.zycto. This role demands a blend of creativity, meticulous organization, and robust problem-solving skills to navigate the complexities of event production in a vibrant Jamaican setting. We are looking for someone who thrives on turning imaginative concepts into flawless realities, consistently exceeding expectations and creating memorable experiences for every client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and budget for weddings and corporate events.
  • Develop detailed event proposals, including themes, concepts, décor, catering, entertainment, and logistics.
  • Create and manage comprehensive event timelines, budgets, and checklists.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage vendors (caterers, venues, florists, photographers, entertainers, AV specialists, etc.).
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects, including venue setup, transportation, guest management, and on-site execution.
  • Oversee event day activities, ensuring smooth operations, timely execution, and prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Manage event budgets, track expenses, and provide transparent financial reporting to clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and exceptional service.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Adhere to all local regulations, health, and safety standards for event execution.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in full-cycle event planning for both weddings and corporate events.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial tracking.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity and an eye for detail in design and aesthetics.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency with event management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Certification in Event Management (e.g., CMP, CSEP).
  • Strong existing network of local vendors and venues in Savanna-la-Mar and surrounding areas.
  • Experience with destination weddings or corporate events for international clients.
  • Portfolio showcasing successful past wedding and corporate events.
