Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Builder to join our dynamic team, focusing on a variety of residential and commercial construction projects in the Quatre Bornes area and beyond. This pivotal role requires a hands-on professional who can manage and execute building tasks from foundation to finish, ensuring adherence to blueprints, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and local building codes, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship and problem-solving abilities. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations on site, working closely with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to deliver high-quality structures. Key Responsibilities
- Execute construction tasks according to blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for both residential and commercial projects.
- Perform various building tasks including masonry, formwork, steel fixing, concrete pouring, carpentry, and finishing works.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, project managers, and other trades to ensure smooth project flow and timely completion.
- Identify and resolve construction issues and discrepancies on-site, proposing practical solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
- Mentor and guide junior team members and apprentices, fostering a culture of learning and skill development.
- Monitor material usage and report any potential shortages or wastage to the site management.
- Conduct regular quality checks on work in progress and completed sections to ensure high standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a builder or in a similar construction role for at least 3 years.
- Demonstrated proficiency in various construction techniques (e.g., masonry, carpentry, concrete work).
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
