Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various types of fishing gear, including nets, lines, and traps.
- Navigate fishing vessels safely to designated fishing grounds, adhering to all maritime regulations.
- Locate and identify target fish species using traditional knowledge and modern electronic equipment.
- Participate in the deployment, retrieval, and repair of fishing equipment.
- Process and store catch efficiently on board, ensuring quality and adherence to hygiene standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vessel engines, equipment, and fishing gear.
- Adhere strictly to all maritime safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading catch and supplies at the port.
- Work collaboratively with the captain and fellow crew members to ensure successful fishing expeditions.
- Monitor weather conditions and sea states, reporting any concerns to the captain.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vessel at all times.
- Accurately record catch data and other operational logs as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience as a Fisherman.
