Job Description
Terra Mauricia Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gardener to join our property maintenance team in Terre Rouge, Pamplemousses District. This pivotal role involves the comprehensive care and beautification of our various compounds and landscaped areas, ensuring they consistently meet our high standards of excellence. You will be instrumental in creating and maintaining stunning outdoor environments that reflect the prestige and natural beauty associated with the Terra brand.
As our Gardener, you will be responsible for a wide range of horticultural tasks, from routine maintenance to contributing to larger landscaping projects. This includes planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, weeding, and pest management for lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees. We are looking for someone with a true passion for gardening, an eye for detail, and a commitment to preserving the pristine condition of our properties. You will work with a variety of gardening tools and equipment, requiring both skill and physical stamina.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily gardening tasks including planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding, pruning, and mowing.
- Maintain lawns, flower beds, shrubberies, and trees to the highest standards.
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely and effectively (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws).
- Monitor plant health, identify pests and diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.
- Assist in the design and implementation of new landscape projects and garden renovations.
- Ensure proper irrigation and drainage systems are in place and functioning correctly.
- Keep all gardening areas clean, tidy, and free from debris.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while performing duties.
- Report any maintenance issues or concerns regarding the grounds or equipment to the supervisor.
- Contribute to waste management and recycling efforts for green waste.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Gardener, particularly in landscaping and compound maintenance.
- Solid knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and common plant diseases and pests.
- Proficiency in operating various gardening tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to garden maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of health and safety practices in gardening.
Preferred Qualifications
- A certificate or diploma in Horticulture or a related field.
- Valid driving license (manual preferred) for operating utility vehicles.
- Experience with irrigation system maintenance.
- Knowledge of local Mauritian flora and fauna.
